Geist being funny with certain sample packs

I use Geist to audition and bounce sampled loops into logic at the right tempo and it generally does a top job. I've recently bought a couple of sample packs from F9 - they are top quality but geist just doesn't slice any of the samples correctly. Even a simple 4/4 kick drum only loop - it will plac...

actually once i have set up a knob to modulate "offset" - the knob doesnt do anything until halfway around - making the other half very sensitive as the sample is all squashed onto one side. Im assuming this is a feature of "offset". So how do I modulate the start point directly ...

Best way to adjust start point "on the fly"

Im looking to load an acapella into geist and then a manually find different bits/words/phrases and assign to different pads. Rather like MK does on a MPC. Ideally I would find the different 'starting points' with a controller knob. I was wondering if the following is the best way; 1) load accapella...

Thanks Rory, I hadn't thought to shorten the amp release for every hit within the loop at the same time. I'll give it a go and see..

Any easy way to stop pops and clicks when altering a loop?

Every time I load a loop then change the tempo, I have to go into each individual hit and alter the amp release to minimise the 'pop' of the next transient. I guess what im probably looking for is an automatic fade or "zero crossings" type feature. Starting to use ableton a lot more for th...

Can I move the GuruData folder easily?

Hey,

I just bought a second internal hard drive for samples etc. I was wondering if its problematic to simply move the gurudata folder from the system drive to the second internal drive?

Thanks!

Bringing snares forward..

I like having many of my snare/claps start a bit before the beat. After a bit of experimenting I found that I can move/nudge them to start after the beat using shift in the graph part of the sequencer. Is there something similar I could use to bring them forward?

Thanks,

Steve
