Re: Newbie: Coordinating BFD3 with Yamaha DTX950K

The firmware update should not hurt the .t3a file you have loaded. If it does, just reload. It is a quick procedure. Re my files...... I spent years working with that setup and those are the files I always used when I was playing that kit. It is MIDI assignments. If you need the file again it is a s...

Here is how it works.... The NSPIRE system uses one bass drum, one snare, up to four toms, ride, two crashes, HH and percussion. The Export To Module function does a number of things including down mixing from the BFD format to the NSPIRE format. That shrinks the size a lot! In BFD 3 you can take ad...

There were two different approaches and two different producers for the BFD3 content. Each treated the ambient mics differently because of the production techniques used.

1. Are you plugging the DTX900 into the Steinberg interface? 2. Did you grab the .t3a file for the DTX900 that is available at http://www.fxpansion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7577534 ? If you are using a MIDI connection and used the .t3a file you will need to go into the utilities on the DTx900 and c...

How are you connecting your td11 to the computer? Make sure the td11 is connected and using the appropriate port to send signal to the computer. Then look at your MIDI preferences in the main menu to see if the option for the td11 connection is checked. It sounds like you are not getting MIDI into t...

There are no problems at all using the expansion packs with BFD3. In fact, I am happier with the performance. Is your concern purely the storage size?

You may be thinking of the Mapleworks set in BFD3 that I did with sticks, brushes and mallets. That is different from the expansion pack you listed. I produced both. The Mapleworks is a great kit, but larger and a different sound.

I was just loading any of the BFD3 preset kits that are on the side. As I said the two snares that seemed the worst were the mapleworks and the mapex. But as I said the tama bell brass rim is too sensitive. Of course I loaded them by themselves right from the file to see and it was the same..... Th...

Please open BFD2 in stand alone. What preset are you using? What drums in the preset? Turn off all effects. Looking at the MIDI log, hit a drum softly. What is the MIDI velocity value of that strike? The MIDI map that I made is only to line up the notes. You still need to do some work on the module....
