Is Anyone Making Trap Music in Geist2?

I've been using Geist for a few years now & overall it's been great for most of my Hip-Hop and R&B beats. Recently I've been trying to expand my genres and have noticed that Geist is not nearly as friendly when it comes to switching between different lengths (1/16 triplets, 1/32, etc) within...

Re: Geist 2 bug + minor enhancements thread.

Drag and drop of pads always drops into bank A. Steps: 1/ Select a bank other than A 2/ Drag and drop pad and pad drops into to bank A Temporary solution is to use the 'All' setting. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried that as a workaround. Even if you use the 'All' setting they samples will sti...

Re: Am I the only one finding Geist 2 completely unusable? Please alleviate my frustration

I feel the same way overall and will probably wait until some bug fixes have occurred before I feel comfortable upgrading. As for your drag & drop issue, I found that I had to disable both A-Load and Slice in order to reliably drag & drop samples to the A pads. As you probably already know, ...

Re: Geist 2 Drag & Drop From a Newbie Perspective

Thanks for the reports. Issue1: What options do you have enabled in the Browser? For drag and Drop to work, Auto-Load should be disabled. There is a minor bug when dragging to Banks B-D where the Drop operation can miss the Pad and end up in Bank A. Issue2: Some users have report latency when click...

Geist 2 Drag & Drop From a Newbie Perspective

I've been using Geist on & off for a couple of years now and decided to download the new Geist 2 demo today. Within 2 minutes I was already getting frustrated trying to do a simple task like drag & drop a sample to a pad. Here are the steps I'm taking in the standalone 64-bit version of Geis...

I stopped using Geist because of this exact problem. If it gets fixed I'd love to start using it again.

Geist 1.1.1.8 Crash (64-bit)

I just had Geist crash on me after I did the following: 1. I created a beat in Engine 1 and saved it as a preset. 2. I attempted to save the kit and after I clicked save Geist crashed. Windows 7 64bit, Geist 1.1.1.8 (64bit), Standalone mode. Additional information is below. Edit: I see that the kit ...

Can't Believe It Was This Simple

I feel like a freaking idiot....this problem had me stumped for 3 days before I found the solution. I had my mappings locked by accident and didn't realize the lock was persistent even if you loaded a new preset. So, for all the people who may eventually switch to a new controller & have their m...

MPD32.Geist Preset Question

Hi, I've used the settings within the MPD32.SQS file to create the exact same file for my Akai MPK61 (that was not fun, but definitely a learning experience). So once I load the MPD32.geist preset into the standalone version of Geist (v1.1.1.4, 64-bit) all of the pad mappings & bank changes work...

How do you save an entire song setup in Standalone Mode?

I'm using v1.1.1.4 and noticed I can only save kits, engines, and presets individually. If I create an entire song in standalone mode and want to save the entire setup, is there a way all of that can be saved as a single "song" file?

Any word on whether this bug was addressed? Here is a simple project from Sonar X2 reproducing the problem. Okay, I can repro it here. Interestingly, I cannot get it to happen when switching from pattern 1 to pattern 2, without using GATED or RESTART mode. It only seems to occur (in Sonar at least) ...

Sample Start/End Midi CC

I second the "Sample Start/End Midi CC" feature request. This is such a basic feature that I have a very hard time believing this wasn't considered from the very beginning. Was it a technical issue that couldn't be worked out in time? I just don't get what's taking so long. First of all: t...

Ok...so I had an idea right after I posted my last reply. I checked the shift graph and noticed that the very first step on that track was below the shift graph line (can't think of the right terminology right now). Once I deleted that shift (or adjust it above the shift graph line) the step plays a...
