You need to map your controller according to GURU´s midi implementation.

In this case you have to have a midi track for each engine correct?

Depends on your host and your preference.

I like to put each engine on its dedicated track.

I do the same and you´re right in this aspect all level-matching is done via the gain knob. Now I see, what you mean. It would indeed be nice if GURU´s internal mixer would be able to target the sub-outs instead of the engines. But I suppose this would mean a hell of coding. It sure is a nice featur...

I see. Why not use only one track on midi channel 11 and just record or pencil in your scene triggers. It´s not more complicated than dragging I suppose. The beauty of dragging patterns is, that you can edit, rearrange, and fiddle with them independently. I rarely use scenes anymore. All arranging o...

I think it would be a mess. Imagine that you would have to create tracks for each engine used, would you always create 8, or only the used ones? I´d imagine it would be only possible to do this, if you used multi-track *.mid like GM. It´s crucial to have all engines patterns as seperate regions. Eve...

I think it´s a rather useful feature to bypass the internal mixer, if using sub-outs as engine-outs. You only want the engines on different outs, if you´re using some kind of mixer (be it a DAW, an external hardware mixer, or your interfaces internal mixer) anyway. Can you enlighten me, in which usa...

Apparently you need a ASIO capable audiodevice to run ASIO drivers. Try ASIO4All or upgrade to a better soundcard.

... Just a quick question, how is it wired. I mean, i see all kicks are going to Aux 1, Snares Aux 2 HiHat Aux 3 etc but where is this actually configured. I used to just click on the pad edit button in guru and change the output of each individual pad when using only 1 engine. Now i would like to ...

Yeah, gate mode works also, I forgot about this because my workflow consists layering. I guess there are different ways to work with GURU inside Logic.

Select an empty pattern after you dragged to your arrangement.
Normally if you play back your Logic song, GURUs sequencer is running also. Make sure all engines have an empty pattern selected, if you want them to play the midi regions in your arrange only.

That is because it is double triggered. Select an empty pattern in GURU and you should be set.

Search the forum, this was discussed several times.

As I understand, Live rechannels all incoming midi data to channel 1.

Yes, you can.
No, it´s not problematic, just set the data path on the options page accordingly.

I´m absolutely sure that what you want is possible, unfortunately I don´t undertand you.
If you would explain a little deeper (for the stupid ones, like me), I reckon we will be able to help you.

cheers
Chris
