How about a BFD Eco expansion with the BFD2 grooves?

I got BFD Eco on sale and I really like the ease of use. BFD2 would probably be too much for me, for one due to all the mixing options I'd never really use and for another due to the huge sample libary (I'm not much of kit creator). However, I'd like to have more grooves in BFD Eco. I see the add-on...

Also, it's noteworthy sometimes C-1 is C0. Or sometimes "C0" is midi note Number 0, which is C-1 according to others. Apparently, according to ISO standards Midi note number 60 is supposed to be "middle C" and #69 is A440. But there seems to be disagreement over what "middle...

Hm, I'd hardly call myself a real musician. I hear you Drew, and thanks for your pointers and trying to get us on track, hehe. Just give it some thought sometime and do some experimenting with odd-meter loops . Everything gets a little unpredictable, and you can't really import any 3/4 or oth...

Thanks, yeah, but as you point out, a step sequencer doesn't mean only even measures if it's flexible enough. Time signatures would add all the flexibility in one place without the math and the headache. :D I think for example if there was a shading setting that would take its cues from the DAW's me...

I sadly confirm your suspicion that Geist is tragically blind to the merits and values of time signatures (see another post a page back or so). Something that at least in my case is keeping me from using it to it's full potential. I also feel this is such a crippling omission that the term 'Feature ...

I now believe this to be entirely Ableton specific issue. I loaded the VST up in Tobybear MiniHost and all my padKontrol maps work as well as my keyboard on midi channel 10. sSo has nothing to do with Geist not mapping correctly. I'll uninstall Ableton and reinstall if I have to. Maybe the way I ha...

Sweet! The quick and dirty fix for me was to open them all in notepad++ and replace every instance of "../../../" with "../../". How silly is that? Why would you save a preset's references to factory content with relative paths?! Per-preset content maybe, but factory? That...

It's done. Now I have to find out what I have to do about a) fxpansion (will they allow me posting this tool?) and b) the disclaimer (I don't want to be held responsible for anything), then I can post the program. Cool! You were right of course, the problem was the factory content being saved with ...

Good to know about the Cinematic Perc, that was one I was eyeing. On the de-artistication: You can't change the folder structure because the sample folders of the presets are stored in absolute values. Move the preset and the folder to a different place and the preset can't find the samples anymore....

The Factory Library is an utter mess.

Samples should be in hits/* or loops/*, kits should be in kits/*, engines should be in engines/*, presets in presets/*. Right now, every folder (engines/, Presets/, Kits/) has multiple sample folders in it (and on a per preset/engine/kit basis, not even just one folder, with additional annoyance add...

Yeah, no time signatures, especially no odd time signatures, is a big one for me too and the main reason I avoid the built in pattern editor. For a dedicated drum machine that's really sub-par and it sadly drags everything else down with it when you do need it. Besides, it doesn't make sense to arra...
