Wow. Interesting. Not sure I'm quick enough on the draw to actually "play" grooves. Actually you can play quite sloppy if all the grooves in the pallet are similar in style. The grooves will stay synced to your project (assuming you set the start parameter to do that). But changing the no...

Glad to you sorted things out. You can also play the grooves in-sync with your project without using the Drum Track. Set the transport to play from the pallet and not the track. Then if you play the note shown in the pallet (C6 for slot 1, C#6 for slot 2, etc.) it will play the groove in the associa...

Well a Groove is the basic unit of construction that contains a drum pattern. A pallet is a collection of grooves. You can open and use an existing pallet. You can modify the grooves in an existing pallet and save that as a new pallet. You can also start with a blank pallet and either load individua...

I decided that I needed to get a better understanding of how BFD worked. So I recently watched the BFD3 videos at Groove 3 ($15 for 30 day access to all their videos) and found it very enlightening, exposing me to all sorts of capabilities I didn't know about. Eli, the instructor gives very straight...

Final drum hit in groove not playing

I'm just starting to learn groove editing and have run into a strange problem. I'm using BFD3 in stand alone mode and only entered some snare hits and no other drums. When I play the groove I hear all the drum hits except the final one. If I add another hit (either a snare or any thing else) after t...

Re: BFD3 Manual

No - manuals are now provided online only. They can of course be downloaded but having them online means that the manual can be updated separately from software builds (there have already been revisions to the online manual). That's fine. But if you are going to take that approach then you really n...

Filtering by BPM and Library or Genre shows no results

I just upgraded to BFD3 and wanted to audition the new grooves. Using the Groove Browser filters I found that if I selected the BFD3 library and also filtered by BPM I ended up with zero results. With BPM set to all, filtering using Library and Genre, Time Sig. or Author all work fine. Turns out fil...

@David I just upgraded and also didn't have the manual installed. Also when I went to the downloads page there were PDFs for BFD & BFD2 but not BFD3. I'd never have thought to look on the product page if it wasn't on the download page. Someone is not paying attention to the details it would seem...
