Re: using the separate filters in cypher

You can automate it by scaling the amount of LFO=>Filter using one of the PERF mod sources or one of the available MIDI control sources (aftertouch, breath etc.)

So your mod source is set to e.g. "LFO+- via PERF1", dial in the depth you want, and then use PERF1 to control the amount.

Re: All good things come to those who wait.. the Synth Squad 2 thread

I remember in old Dcam Synth Squade Strobe was basicly a striped down version of Cypher. No, it wasn't. Different oscillator feature set (supersaw, selfsync, simultaneous-waveform sub) and different filter (Moog & SVF, vs Strobe's 101/JP6-style OTA). But if i buy both and i want oscillator or f...

Re: All good things come to those who wait.. the Synth Squad 2 thread

What do you mean all things..? Strobe and Cypher are different instruments. So Cypher2 won't have Strobe2's oscillator, and its JP filter is cut-down a little from Strobe2's (specifically, it doesn't have some of the more exotic filter modes, and it doesn't burn quite so many CPU cycles doing sample...

Re: Cypher2 early look

Yes, we're keeping the Dark theme more-or-less unchanged in the next Strobe2. Some small tweaks like the bigger gap between mod source buttons that you can see at the top in those screen grabs, because some people didn't immediately understand that they were buttons.

Re: Cypher2 early look

The old GUI makes heavy use of 3d-rendered bitmaps. You can get more complex shapes that way. The new approach means that the more complex the shape, the greater the CPU hit. That said.. here's a work in progress "Modern" theme that'll be included in the next Strobe2 update. It's closer to...

Re: How to do Harmonic Tuning ( like real Analog ) ?

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by Harmonic Tuning, do you have a link to something that describes it?

Strobe2 can import *.TUN microtuning tables, there is a web site with a free Scala to TUN convertor if you're used to working with Scala.

Re: Cypher2 early look

The GUIs have to do a few things that they didn't last time around: - be scalable to work with the wide range of monitor sizes and DPIs including Retina, at full quality - be re-colourable to work with different peoples' working environments (some work in daylight & want a bright UI, some work i...

Re: Cpu features not working

Glad to hear it! Having done a little more research - switching these AVX optimizations on for AMD processors actually won't bring that much of a performance benefit, so you're not missing out on much. Why..? Because Bulldozer has two 128-bit FMA-capable units for vector maths, which can operate tog...

Re: All good things come to those who wait.. the Synth Squad 2 thread

Hi, Expect some news on Cypher2 very, very soon. Actual availability won't be until some time after New Year, but some audio demos and early info should be along in the next week or so. You won't be disappointed on the filters front. It doesn't have every last shape from Strobe's filter (although yo...

Hi,

Which AU instruments other than the Logic included ones does this work with? I need to take a look and see how they do it .

Re: using the separate filters in cypher

Set the filters' "Route" mode to "1+2" to get the filters to operate in parallel.

Then use the Mix sliders on the oscs to route them to filter 1 or 2.

That should do the trick!

Re: Global Settings - Legato

Is polyphony (voice count) set to 1?
Is Pitch Glide Time turned up from zero?

If both of those are set, you should get monosynth-style glide.
