Can someone post a short, uncompressed (ie, not mp3) recording? I've not heard this before.

Hmm, that's a use case I didn't consider (Rail making noises: "I did!"). Let me go confer with our Man About Adapters, Mr Angus Hewlett...

Thanks for the runtime log: I see some of the basic button images are failing to load. Can you check these files exist on your system: /Library/Application Support/FXpansion/BFD3/Resources/Preferences/DataPathsCategoryLogo.png /Library/Application Support/FXpansion/BFD3/Resources/Preferences/GrooveL...

Sounds like the swell model name + amount aren't being initialized to something sensible on upgrading a BFD2 preset. Cheers for report, will get on that right away.

My mistake - there's none of the explicit, secret communications between BFD and Drumagog that we used to support in Drumagog 4. Drumagog 5 should be fine, as it just acts like a complete VST host around the plugin.

The BFD3 downloadable data is hosted on Amazon S3, not our own servers. As more and more BFD3 users start piling in, the S3 CloudFront servers physically closer to various markets will start populating to take the strain. If Amazon can't handle the load, the world has bigger issues than BFD3... ;)

Small correction: we've never said BFD2 would be AAX64, in fact BFD2 dev was frozen at 2.3.1.6, which was well over a year before the AAX64 SDK was available even in draft form, so that our BFD dev team could concentrate on BFD3.

This is backward compatibility with BFD1 & BFD 1.5. The 10-piece kit option follows BFD1's layout, the 18-piece kit follows BFD1.5.

In "Future Versions" of BFD, this will no longer be relevant as we've abstracted out that layer of slot-i-ness.

(rewind to 1970s) "I wish synth manufacturers would concentrate on decent weighted keyboards instead of playing with this new fangled MIDI thing..." ;) There's a variety of new human-interfacing techniques (amongst plenty of other technologies) popping up regularly. We don't jump on them a...

How many times have I tried to resize something on my non-touchy screens by pinching or twirling... I think I can safely say we're all trained up on the gestures now. Multi-touch is def something on our radar, we just need to get clear of a certain very large project so we can get some breathing spa...

We're keeping backward compatibility as much as we can, yup, and the new stuff forms a superset of functionality. Old packs go through an automated upgrade process. On the Yamaha front - it may *seem* Yamaha heavy in the last few years, but not really - the early years of BFD1 were Yamaha light, lat...
