Postby rabs » Tue Apr 15, 2008 12:10 am

Sorry to be so impatient but just wondered when 1.6 will be released and what may be in the update? Thanks

It'll be released when it is ready - I have a bunch of other non-GURU things to work on, and as it's a free update there's only so much time I can allocate to it. It's primarily a bug fix, but we are improving a few things:-

* skin support.
* some improvements to graph copy/paste.
* extensive OSC support for Monome, Lemur, and the iPhone OSC Client (draw sequences and graphs with the stylus on your iPhone...).
* 16 stereo outputs instead of 8.
* Patterns can now be up to 16 pages (= 32 bars) long instead of the previous limit of 4.
* Quick save.
* You can now re-name individual pad samples (in the sequencer lane, not on the pads themselves) - click on the pad name in the display panel above the transport controls to rename it.
* Phase Flip for individual layers.
* Layers can be swapped with the layer immediately to the left or right.
* Audio export now honours engine volume when in Engine mode.
* Audio export can be armed from MIDI, and the export mode can be set.
* miscellaneous other improvements to the MIDI implementation.

HTH,
Angus.

still loving GURU as it is - one of the best bits of music software I've bought.

It certainly feels 2.0, but I say that all the time.

When you look at the 1.0 version, and all of the FREE updates since then, it's kind of a miracle this hasn't costed us.

In most companies, we would be paying.

Big thanks to Angus and all at Fxpansion for this.

FxPansion is the best company out here doing this in my opinion.

Hear hear! :D

And if this is 'merely' an update, imagine where 2.0 will take us... :shock:

Wow! thats one hell of an update! Guru is definitely my most valuable software purchase so far!

Im really happy to be able to work with 32 bars! cant explain how excited i am with that idea.

However, do you think it will be possible to be able to view more than 2 bars at a time? I just find it abit unhealthy working in such a small space all the time...

If not its still a top update!

no denying it... Guru and the fXpansion team are far and beyond any other software vendor in this field at the moment.

apart from my DAW itself, guru is absolutely the best software purchase i've made.

Guru is good so keep up the good work.

However its not that good that the price should go up. :wink:

And the price shouldn't go down either!

Just my opinion.

OSC support would be amazing for it's ability to connect to Lemur, monome, MAX/MSP and others.
