1.6 Multiouts not showing in Logic 8

Postby noidftm » Mon Apr 13, 2009 3:46 pm

When I installed guru 1.6 on macbook 10.4.11 the multiout plus button wont show. I've tried the work around that was used for 1.5 where you save a CST in logic 7, but that solution is not working for 1.6. I've even done a clean wipe and only installed 1.6. and then work around still isnt working, nor can I get the Multiout button to appear. Why does Fxpansion continue to have this problem with guru?

how you gonna tell me there is no problem when there clearly is, and has always been a reappearing consistency? see logicprohelp forum if this is all new to you

I do so because there clearly is no problem with the combo os 10.4.11, Logic 8.0.2 and GURU 1.6.12 per se.
I am sorry you took our effort the wrong way, but how could we know how knowledgeable you are, with the little info you do provide, regarding your system, your setup and your level of experience.

I assume your problem lies somewhere else.
Do you use ReWire devices? Any wrapped plugins? Which copyprotection schemes do your other installed software use?

Did you do a clean install with nothing else than Logic, ProAppKit and GURU?
Your Macbook is a CoreDuo (Yonah) based one?

Give us more info and maybe the community and the FX-guys are able to track down probable pitfalls.

cheers
Chris

Macbook (intel core duo) oxs 10.4.11 logic pro 8.0.2 newest pro app = yes

I assume your problem lies somewhere else.

I seriously doubt any of the aforementioned are relevant here.

that was a pretty dumb question imo. ask yourself who is gonna wipe their entire computer of plugs just to install one? but as stated i did wipe all previous versions of guru and the problem was still present.

can I ask why it's seems to me that noone here is either A. aware, or b. familiar with the FACT that this is a reoccuring problem with guru? there are entire threads based on this in 1.5 including the multiout workaround in which i've been using this entire time.

in closing the plus button does not show, nor is there a option for multiout when u select the pluging, only mono, and stereo.

We're aware of it with:-

OLD versions of GURU prior to v1.5 which used the "Logic 6/7" method of declaring multiouts, which isn't compatible with Logic 8. So GURU 1.0.x and 1.1.x would report as stereo-only in Logic 8 - this is not an issue with GURU 1.5.x or 1.6.x.

GURU v1.6, which has 16 output pairs, which is too many for LOGIC 7 to deal with, which causes it to report none at all. This is not an issue in Logic 8.

In short, there are no open bug reports relating to GURU 1.5.x/1.6.x in relation to Logic 8.

Can you please copy and paste the Audio Unit Validation Result from Logic's AU Manager for a Reset+Rescan of GURU, and add it on to the end of this thread? That might help us find the problem.

I think it is a very good question, because this is what I would do, if I had a problem with a software setup, that seems to work for others with a similar equipment.

I would consider it a dumb move to wipe my entire computer, when all I had to do is grab an external firewire disk.
edit:
So to answer your question: I hope no one. But apparently there are people out there considering such a move.

Must say I'm puzzled, the AU log reports:-

Output Scope Bus Configuration:
Default Bus Count:16

which indicates that it can see the outs OK. Going to ping my contacts at apple...
