How do I UNINSTALL GURU 1-5-12 from Macbook Pro Snow leopard?

Postby Misterkite » Thu Jul 08, 2010 9:56 pm

HI,
Please would someone help me? I want to UNinstall GURU from my laptop COMPETELY as it's causing trouble with stuff and i want to delete everything and go back to what i know. Can't figure this stuff out anyway....
I have deleted all files containing the words 'GURU' and 'FXpansion' and the REX things but I still have trouble w Garageband...perhaps it's corrupted it or something...?. Is there an UNINSTALLER program for it to get all the bits and bobs out of my system?
Would really appreciate any help,
Thanks

Hello,

As we've had problems with the uninstallers in some versions of Guru, manual deleting is the best way.

Delete your AU and VST plugins from:
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST

Delete your application from Applications

Delete the following:
- /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.FXpansion.Guru.Options.plist
- /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.FXpansion.Guru.plist
- /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.FXpansion.GURU.Standalone.plist

Delete your data folder

That should see you right. Out of interest, what problems were you having? Updating to 1.6.12 may well solve it.
