Hi guys

A quick update from the web team:
- We are still investigating general site speed ups
- I'll look into the email notification links being broken, thanks for the report on that

As for the rest of the aesthetic stuff Ashely, thanks again for the comprehensive list! We're still prioritising functional / broken / product / marketing / internal systems type things at the moment (of which there are many!) but we will have a chance to look at these later in the year. Hope that's not too painful for you?!

Cheers

Thanks!

I keep getting logged out now too, and so the new posts are being lost when I click the 'quick link'... meaning I have to go through all the forum threads to see "what's new".

Best,

Sorry to hear the log out problem - is this being logged out of the whole FX user account, or is it just the forum you appeared logged out of?

We've not seen this before, and I cannot repro the issue here alas.
- Can you confirm browser / OS you are seeing this on?
- It may be session / cookie related, so it might be worth trying a different browser to see if it is still happening, or clearing out cookies for the current browser?
- Let us know if you have installed any new extensions / blockers / etc on your browser too which may have coincided with this issue

Thanks.

It's not a regular occurrence, but perhaps in the past week or so I have been logged out. I'm running Safari 8.0.7 on Yosemite 10.10.4, no extensions/blockers, cookies are good.

When I float over the tools icon there's a pop-up of functions, which I can't get to because as soon as I move to it, it disappears!

This is not the only weird behaviour I'm encountering. Email notification and Top links aren't working either, as previously posted in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7581281&p=100832#p100832

Any ideas, anyone?

@sharpy_fx

The logout issue happened again!

P.s. Lots of spam still not cleared on the forum going back over a month.

Hi all

Ashley - thanks for the info - we've still not been able to reproduce the login issue you have seen, if you spot any particular circumstances / workflow that causes it, please let us know and we'll look into it. Could it be that you are logged in in more than one place at the same time perhaps?

@DuncanC - some users have reported notifications not working properly on the new site. Check your settings here:
Username top right drop down -> User control panel -> Board preferences -> Edit notification options
And yes - some of the pop-ups are broken, apologies, it's on our list - there should be a way of getting to most essential tasks hopefully.

We are monitoring the spam situation currently to gauge levels and come up with a decent compromise of account signup / posting restrictions vs inconveniencing our customers too much.

FYI - in the grand scheme of things some more forum fixes have been prioritised and scheduled for the web team over the next few weeks, thanks for your patience everyone!

Hi there - apologies, that was my fault - I was doing some testing and did not realise an email would be sent out.

Please ignore this!

Just got this reply and again was logged out! Thus losing all the "new posts" as it's session based.

Argh - sorry to hear that.

We're still yet to reproduce the log out issue I'm afraid. Did it happen when you clicked on the notification email and it launched a freash browser, or were you just in the forum and followed the notification from the drop down menu?

Might I suggest you log out, delete any fxpansion cookies in your browser settings, and then log in again?

Clicked the link and it launched a new tab in Safari. Tried deleting the cookies last time, and clearing the chase with alt+click on the refresh icon in the address bar, but it happened...

Any progress in the pipeline with regards to speeding the site up? It's very frustrating to use because every action (page load, post submit etc) takes upwards of 10-20 seconds which makes it feel slower than dialup sometimes. It's possibly the slowest forum I'm aware of right now! It's been like this every since it was updated last year or whenever. I always dread coming to the fxpansion forum because it's such a sluggish experience to read or participate or do anything. And it probably gives a bad impression to new visitors...

It is awful, I don't think I know of a slower site, it is like dial up.
