Yamaha RHH135 with DTX 532 - Problem with Variable Zones

Postby ajgrossman » Tue Jan 13, 2015 10:44 pm

I have both BFD2 and BFD3.

For some reason, in either version of BFD, I am unable to get the variable zones to light up "red" when I trigger anything other than a pedal articulation. I have set my variable tip and shank articulations along with the pedal articulation. If I press down the pedal, I can get the "CLOSED" zone box to light up red.

Since I cannot get the other zones to light up red consistently, I am finding it near impossible to set the RHH135 for the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 articulations.

Has anyone else run into this? Do you have any suggestions?

I have tried changing all of the settings in the DTX502 module that relate to the hi hat, and nothing seems to make a difference with lighting up the variable zones. Maybe I should abandon any hope of getting the zones to light up and just go by sound alone.

Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me nuts!
