Here is an automapped Launchpad template for Geist standalone.

In Automap under Software Setup in the advanced tab put a checkmark on channel 9,10 and 11.

Then open edit mapping and load file9 on channel 9, file10 on channel 10 and file11 on channel11.

For quicker changing between the channels i put 9 in the instrument group, thing 10 in the fx group and 11 in the user group.

Finally when you open Geist load the mapping file and you´re set.

In the Geist midi preferences uncheck Launchpad input and put a check on Automap Midi.

If you have questions, just ask me.

Enjoy :-)

I am also trying to make the virtual Geist-pads match with the Akai MPK49 pads. Well I can make 9 of them work with an midi-pitch down to -24 but the upper three don´t match as a midi signal as they are not cromatic obviously.

May I expect a layout or something from fxpansion?

Cheers, Dandy

Here is the Geist Maschine map, in NCC file format - so you can append it to your existing list of templates, instead of overwriting everything.

You'll still need the Geist template song from the Controller Maps zip, which is also here.

Hey all,

Right. I've put together a Maschine Mikro template. It's pretty different from the full on Maschine one, and to a certain extent is part of my own personal workflow. It may work for you though.

---------

Pad Group A: Pads for the current engine
Pad Group B: First 16 patterns for the current engine
Pad Group C: Control over the graph record knob from the pads

Knob Page 1: Global Swing
Knob Page 2: Global Pitch
Knob Page 3: Repeat Rate
Knob Page 4: Browser Preview Volume

Scene to Mute buttons: Engines 1 - 8 selector

F1: Lock all pads
F2: Lock all patterns and lanes
F3: Browser Slice On/Off
F4: Browser Auto-Load On/Off

Play - Play
Record - Record Arm
Erase - Note Erase
Restart - Metronome On/Off
Grid - Input Quantize
Left - Undo
Right - Redo

Browser - Previous File
Sampling - Next File
Enter - Retro Record

Geist Lite and Maschine Pads

Hi,

I'm roadtesting Geist Lite at the minute. Is there any way to get the pads to work with the Maschine template, or is this a limitation of the Lite version? I can see the Midi signal being acknowledged in Geist, and a couple of the knobs work, but no pads.

I have loaded the .ncc file into NI Controller Editor and the geist preset file into geist. No pad joy.

I sent a PM asking permission about this, but re-read the thread and it seems ok to upload my maps for the Korg padKONTROL.

I have a standalone map that uses one .kpks file and one .geistbinding file

I have an Ableton Live map that uses one .kpks file and one .geistbinding file

I have a screenshot of the geist track group setup in Ableton Live showing the proper midi channel and controller input and the routing to track, then sub routing to channel.

I have placed my geist vst on track 10 as the Group track is track 9, then three midi tracks are all thats needed to get the following:

Maps for both Standalone and Ableton as a VST have the following default spots for control:

Scene 1 - 8 are just pads corresponding to pads on Engine 1 - 8

Scene 9 is purely pattern switching from 1 - 16
Scene 10 is pattern switching continued for patterns 17 - 24, then scene 10 pads 9-16 do the engine changes as long as you have loaded the correct geistbind template.

Scene 11-14 are purely scene switching

Scene 15 pads 1 - 8 are for continued scene switching, pads 9 - 16 are toggles for engine on/engine off for corresponding engines 1 - 8

scene 16 is just using pads 1 - 8 for other transport:

Pad 1 - Play
Pad 2 - Record
Pad 3 - restart
Pad 4 - Metronome
Pad 5 - Song
Pad 6 - Retro
Pad 7 - Loop
Pad 8 - Repeat

This applies to a single Geist instance and all audio mixed within Geist and summed to stereo out heading to Master out in Ableton live.

Hope some others benefit from it because I felt pretty lost last week after trying to get everything to work easy and it didnt because of my lack of understanding to multitimbral mapping.
the two files you need for either standalone or vst work in Ableton are named to correspond with the same name geistbinding file.
Enjoy

Oh yeah, I forgot to map out many flam/roll pads per scene, but just go into the scene, hit settings button, hold roll button or flam button and start pressing the pads you want. They light up to indicate where you have them or where you need to put one next.
