Bug - Undo broken when zooming into pad slices

Postby CakeAlexS » Wed Oct 14, 2015 11:55 pm

Can anybody reproduce please in Geist 1.1.3.4?

STEPS

1 Slice a sample in Pads/Layers form and extract to pads.
2 Play one pad. You should now be under the pads/layers form.
3 Zoom into the waveform by hitting the + key.
4 Adjust the length of the sample by clicking one of the points/square handles around the edge of the sample waveform.
5 Play the sample
6 Now press undo button

EXPECTED

Zoom level stays the same

ACTUAL

Zoom level resets.
(Same issue when pressing redo BTW).

Yep, I guess you could expect the zoom level to stay the same in this circumstance. It could be Paul set the waveform view to zoom out on undo/redo for a reason though, he'd have chime in on that.

This isn't a bug. The undo / redo system undoes the change to the pad and that reverts the state to default.

Might not be a ""bug"", but the behavior is undesirable to say the least.
If this is "by design" it appears to be bad design
Can you comment on that? Thanks :)

Well it isn't something that will be addressed until Geist 2 AFAIK.
