Can you identify this kit?

Postby beautypill » Sun Apr 24, 2016 10:24 pm

Hey, I'm having trouble finding these drums in my "8 Bit Kit" library.

Does anyone know which drums are used in this FXPansion soundcloud demo for 8bit Kit? Is it possible the kick and snare are not from that library at all?

Lemmeknow. Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I will keep hunting. I purchased 8 Bit Kit largely because I liked the tone of this particular demo, so it was a bummer not to find the set!

Hi,

I did those 8BK demos although it was 10+ years ago so I simply can't remember which kit-pieces were used for each demo! Sorry about that.

From listening to it (ah the nostalgia!), in that demo it's likely to be one of the 8BK Custom kicks, there's a lot of Remo Rototom action in there too, plus some Moroccan Tambourine snare by the sounds of it. I did do a fair bit of processing on it, but also remember that there is a lot of scope in the 8BK mic channels for different sounds. For a start, pull down the PZM/Amb3 completely, then pull down the OH/Room to taste. I also tend to use predominantly Kick In and Snare Btm mics and also lots of damping.

BTW all the sounds are definitely from 8BK, in fact I don't think BFD Percussion existed at that point in time, although I could be wrong. Hazy memories.

Hope this helps.

Mayur

Is it possible that you saved your preset/kit information when you made these demos?

I'm really having a demon of a time chasing this sound.
