I'm in the process of buying a new Mac (2020 iMac) and want to use/move BFD3, which I have used on a 2009 MacPro for many years, to the new iMac. Can I just copy the BFD3 folder with all the libraries from my old MacPro to the new iMac, or do I have to do a complete new installation on the new computer?
Also, is the BFD3 license only good for one computer or am I able to run BFD3 on both the old and the new Mac?
You can just move the files over. Although, I'd probably move the libraries, and do a reinstall of the software. I've moved my library many many times without necessarily doing a reinstall. It started out as a BFD1 library on Windows, and is now on the Mac on BFD3.
I believe there are a number of instances that you can use at once, or, a limit on the number of times it can be moved before you need to request a license reset. You won't run into the limit until you've done it a few times. I don't remember exactly how many.
