Q: does upgrade invalidate geist 1 ? or is geist2 just another vst to add in ?

Nope. You can use Geist 1 alongside Geist 2, but you cannot sell your Geist 1 license if you've upgraded.

thanks for the reply- no, I was not meaning to sell my geist 1, I just want to be able to use it still. sorry for the misunderstanding.

This was the question I've been waiting to ask as well: As much as I'm anticipating the greatness of Geist2, Geist1 has become my rock programming-wise. So just to overstate the point: If I upgrade Geist1 I will end up with Both versions of Geist? (completely awesome if so)

And: will Geist1 be supported (just to run, not feature-implemented) through further (Apple in my case) os Updates? Thanks in advance - x

Geist1 is considered legacy product at this point. Under normal circumstances, we wouldn't expect to put out any further updates.
