Akai MPD32: new firmware available

Postby phazed » Sun Mar 15, 2009 3:17 pm

Version 1.03 of the firmware for the Akai MPD32 pad controller is now available:

http://www.akaipro.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1123/tt/5

It fixes the MIDI port issues on OS X and makes several global settings storable.

What application did you use to transfer the file? I used SysEx Librarian (http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/) because it does a very good job on these things. The pause time between the chunks of sysex data can be configured to make the transfer process safer. Some devices don't accept the data as fast as it's transmitted by the computer and that's a common cause why firmware updates fail.

i just used the pad editor, but i think it has something to do with other usb devices plugged in, i also have the MPK. its all done now but it doesn't load the last used preset, but i didnt have a chance to use the 1.0.1 FW version so dont know how much it has improved.

will have a butchers at that librarian software, thanks for the heads up
