Geist hardware controller maps

Postby Paul_fx » Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:56 am

Hi guys,

At the link below you can find controller maps for the Akai MPD32 and the Native Instruments Maschine. The download contains instructions for using both.

Users who create maps for other hardware, feel free to link to them in this thread for others using the same hardware. If there is specific hardware you would like us to map, let us know what it is and time permitting we will look in to it.

Pad Bank A - Channel 9, pads
Pad Bank B - Channel 9, patterns (first 16)
Pad Bank C/D - Channel 11, scenes (first 16 scenes in pad bank C, & pad bank D starts from C1)

its Preset one in the attached bank,

you should be able to write it to any preset number you want on your MPD26

Yes if you remap what notes the MV8000 sends out. In a future update we are planning on making the pads in Geist midi assignable, but for the moment they are fixed assignments

as I'm pretty new to this, my attempts to map one of the user modes on novation's launchpad to geist have been unsuccessful. any chance of getting a midi map for it?

M-Audio Trigger Finger

Postby tonysimpleman » Mon Apr 04, 2011 2:50 am

Any interest in a map for the Trigger Finger? My setup devotes the first 8 presets to the pads for engines 1-8, respectively and preset 9 maps the pads to the first 16 scenes. Then I just have all my MIDI CC knobs and faders set the same on each preset, and I have the mapping set up within Geist (using the Focus feature. Thanks quick tip video :D) to control parameters of the currently selected pad. It's a pretty basic setup, but if anyone is interested let me know and I can upload the mapping file. Obviously, you'll have to tackle the MIDI CC mapping yourself within Geist.

Geist hardware controller maps

Postby f.friction » Tue May 17, 2011 8:32 pm

Having problem getting all the controls to work correctly.
The pads work fine but only can access one engine and
no transport.

I am running Geist through Maschine stand alone.
Mac OS 10.6.7
Maschine direct connect to Mac usb.

Geist hardware controller maps

Postby f.friction » Thu May 19, 2011 11:45 pm

Today I reinstalled Geist and Maschine. I have both running in 64bit.
In my Maschine editor I can see Maschine hardware controlling pads when pressed.
When following all directions with loading Maschine control and Geist template
I am now only able to control top 8 buttons that switch the between 1-8 engines
and now I have lost the pad control...

A pdf in the Geist Controller Map download refers to a
Maschine as midi source..
Not sure to exactly find this unless it is referring to
midi preference in Geist..

can someone please help, I feel like it is something very simple.

Thank you...

But after playing around. I found that if I open Geist on different
groups of Maschine I can control different items. On group A I can control switching engines
on Geist on group B I can control pads. In the Maschine control editor everything is the same.
I using midi mode because it giving me full control over Geist.
So close.
Any advice?

So very simple fix.
Went into the group drop down menu in Maschine.
Go to.
Sound Midi Batch Setup make sure
reset is checked, hit apply.
Reset in first drop down menu..
And I was back business..
