Strobe Pitch Modulation (Vibrato)

Postby neyprod » Thu Sep 04, 2014 6:55 pm

So it's easy to do this on NI Massive, you drag an LFO to the Oscillator's pitch and you get a vibrato... easy.
Not so simple on Strobe... i tried Tying an LFO to the "FINE" knob under the main pitch but it just doesn't get the same effect.

In one of the Modulation slots, you just need to select Perf1+on the top, then apply that modulation to the LFO Mod knob next to the Oscillator pitch. Then the amount of LFO modulation is determined by the Mod Wheel, which is Perf 1 by default.

Strobe's oscillator panel has a dedicated Lfo mod depth (vibrato) knob…

so all you have to do is:

1. Shift-drag the Lfo mod depth knob upwards to a suitable small value, like 0.3.

2. Adjust the Lfo speed, shape, and other settings to create the vibrato effect you want.

A simple Strobe preset is attached, have a look. You didn't ask for modwheel control of the vibrato, but if you want it, Kickflip's post tells you how to get it.

Incidentally, another way to set up vibrato in Massive is to use the dedicated vibrato controls in the OSC tab…
