BFD2 update doesn't install. Stays at 0%

Postby JohnnyCakes » Thu Dec 23, 2010 7:25 pm

I just bought BFD2 from a store and in the process of installation was prompted to seek updates. I did and downloaded the 2.2 version which sticks at 0% while claiming to be updating.

Any ideas out there. Nice way to treat a new customer.

Boot up BFD and check the version number. I'm sure it has updated and its just a known issue with the installer.

No that is not the case. But when I tried to launch it it asked again for the serial number. When I tried to update again it told me that there were all sorts of folders missing.

Could this be because I have not installed all five disks?

You should install all discs as per the instructions in the manual and then download and install updates and any data patches.

Send in a support ticket via thge support section of this website and the FX guys will be able to straighten you out.

Cheers and Merry Christmas :)

Thanks for your response. That's the tiny nudge I needed. I had just followed what was prompted after the installation of disk one, excited to have the latest version. That window shouldn't come up until all disks are loaded to keep idiots like myself from making seemingly stupid rants on tech forums.

Thanks for the help and merry christmas to all and to all a good night.

god bless us, every one!

No kit access

Postby JohnnyCakes » Fri Dec 24, 2010 10:19 pm

now bfd 2 opens up without the capability of loading any kits at all.

Is this because my bfd 2 demo version has somehow combined with my new complete version?

What system are you running? I'd recommend removing the demo version from its installed location, run BFD2, scan for new data and trash and rebuild the database.

You should have been asked to authorize BFD2 via the FX License Manager on launch of the app/plug-in, and after successful auth'ing BFD2 will automatically scan for data and then load the start up box asking how you play or program and if you have any BFD1 kits, etc...

If you updated to BFD 2.2.0.48 before installing the rest of the discs then I guess the combo's data patch hasn't been applied correctly.

Your best bet is to get in touch with the FX crew and explain in detail what you've done - including all details regarding your system setup/config. Or you may wish to remove any installed plugins and data and start over following the manual for details... then grab the data patches and latest version to install after.

Note: Mod's please move this into the "BFD2 thread"

I think we're referring to the same issue:

I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions...
